Globalisation: wirtschaftliche Verflechtung, global supply chains, outsourcing, multinational companies, cultural globalisation (e.g. American pop culture), winners and losers. Leitfragen: Does globalisation reduce or increase inequality? Is a global culture replacing local traditions?
The digital world: social media, fake news and disinformation, filter bubbles and echo chambers, privacy and data protection, artificial intelligence, online activism, cyberbullying. Leitfragen: Should social media platforms be regulated more strictly? How will AI change work and education?
Identity and diversity: multicultural societies (e.g. the UK, the USA, Canada), migration and integration, racism and the Black Lives Matter movement, gender equality, the legacy of colonialism, “coming of age” in literature. Environment: climate change, sustainability, renewable energy, climate activism (e.g. youth climate movements), environmental justice.
